ComingSoon.net has learned that the upcoming fifth Die Hard installment, A Good Day To Die Hard, the next adventure of Bruce Willis‘ John McClane, will be released with a R rating. The film will be arriving on February 7, 2013 in IMAX theaters internationally. The film will release in the United States a week later on February 14.
The first three entries in the franchise were all given the same rating, but the most recent sequel, Live Free or Die Hard, was released in theaters with an edited PG-13 cut (the R cut was later released on home video).
A Good Day To Die Hard puts McClane on an international stage — truly a NYC fish out of water in Moscow — and introduces his estranged son Jack (Jai Courtney). An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive, and the world safe for democracy. The film is being directed by John Moore and co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Cole Hauser, Sebastian Koch, and Yuliya Snigir.
