This summer, Warner Home Entertainment will continue transferring its library catalog onto the HD format. As part of that transfer the studio will release 1978’s Coma onto Blu-ray for the first time. Read the film summary, and listen to our film review.
Coma starred Geneviève Bujold, Academy Award winner Michael Douglas, Rip Torn, Richard Widmark, and contains an early appearance by Tom Selleck. Coma is the story of a young woman doctor who discovers something sinister going on in her hospital. Relatively healthy patients are having ‘complications’ during simple operations and ending up in comas. The patients are then shipped off to an institute that looks after them, and the young doctor suspects there is more to this than meets the eye.
It was written and directed by Michael Crichton and was based on a novel by Robin Cook.
