Just a few hours ago, the new theatrical one-sheet for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released by Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the final theatrical trailer for the film will make its worldwide debut tomorrow night on Monday Night Football on ESPN.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains. The film will also include the return of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C-3PO.
The film features returning stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and Warwick Davis. It will also feature “new to series” actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Chong, and Miltos Yerolemou. The first film in a new trilogy is being directed by J.J. Abrams, who is best known for rebooting both the Star Trek and Mission Impossible franchises. The screenplay was written by Abrams and The Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, and Bryan Burk are producing. John Williams, the composer of all six previous live-action Star Wars films, is returning to score The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.
