Robert Redford In Talks To Join Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Robert Redford PhotoDeadline is reporting that Robert Redford is in negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Reportedly, Redford would play a high-ranking agent of S.H.I.E.L.D if cast.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will star Chris Evans, reprising his role as Steve Rogers/Captain AmericaAnthony Mackie in the role of the FalconEmily VanCamp as the romantic interest, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones. Rumored to be reprising their roles from Marvel’s The Avengers are Samuel L. Jackson as Nick FuryScarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Cobie Smulders as Maria HillSebastian Stan and Toby Jones are reprising their roles of James ‘Bucky’ Barnes and Arnim Zola from the first Captain America film. Stan’s character appeared to have been killed in the first film, but the character of ‘Bucky’ Barnes returns in the comic books as The Winter Soldier. Hayley Atwell is rumored to make a cameo as Peggy Carter in a flashback scene.

Set to be directed by Anthony and Joe RussoCaptain America: The Winter Soldier will start production shortly with a targeted release date of April 4, 2014.
