Paramount Home Entertainment released The Bad News Bears 4-Movie Collection to DVD on April 25, 2017. The films include: The Bad News Bears (1976), The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (1977), The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978), and Bad News Bears (2005).

‘The Bad News Bears’ (1976) Movie Synopsis

Morris Buttermaker is an ex minor league pitcher who’s now a lazy, beer-chugging, swimming pool cleaner on the verge of bankruptcy when he takes money to coach a kids baseball team called the Bears. Since these misfits have little to no baseball talent, Buttermaker recruits his ex-girlfriend’s daughter, Amanda Whurlizer, who’s an ace pitcher, to pick up the slack. He also uses her looks to recruit Kelly Leak, a juvenile delinquent who just so happens to be the best player in town. Now full of talent, these young kids hope to win the championship game against their nemesis, the Yankees… but at what cost?

‘The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training’ (1977) Movie Synopsis

Less than a year after nearly winning it all in the first film, the Bears find themselves without Coach Buttermaker and their star pitcher, Amanda. (They probably wanted too much money for a sequel.) Wanting to eventually play in the prestigious Japanese baseball championship in lovely downtown Japan, the Bears “borrow” a van, pile in it, and head east to Houston unsupervised. Once there, they take on the local champs named the Houston Toros. Unfortunately for the boys, they could use a coach at this time.

The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978) Movie Synopsis

After somehow managing to defeat the Houston Toros, the Bears set a course for adventure with their mind on a new romance in the far-off land known as Japan! Now under the wing of a small-time Hollywood promoter named Marvin Lazar, the Bears face Japan’s all-star baseball team. However, nothing goes as planned on this trip. With a language barrier getting them into trouble (and an unforeseen romance), the Bears must prove they are worthy of being in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Bad News Bears (2005) Movie Synopsis

In a reboot of the original film, Morris Buttermaker is an ex minor league pitcher who’s now a lazy, beer-chugging, professional exterminator on the verge of bankruptcy when he takes money to coach a kids baseball team called the Bears.
