The Long Delayed The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) Finally Comes To Blu-ray

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has finally announced the addition of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) to their slate of upcoming Blu-ray releases. Originally announced in 2012, the film has long been delayed. The film is an adaptation of the 1934 James M. Cain novel and the 1946 Tay Garnett crime drama of the same name, and stars Jack NicholsonJessica LangeJohn Colicos, Michael Lerner, and Anjelica Huston. The 1981 version of the film was directed by Bob Rafelson and based on a screenplay by David MametThe Postman Always Rings Twice will be available for purchase online and in stores beginning on September 3rd.

In rural California, drifter Frank Chambers (Nicholson) meets a beautiful young married woman named Cora (Lange), taking a job in her diner. Soon the two become lovers and lure each other into freeing Cora from her loveless marriage to her older husband, Nick (Colicos). Freedom comes at a cost, though: murder and betrayal.

The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) was released in March of 1981 and grossed over $12 million at the box office.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has not released any details concerning the exact tech specs and special features that will be included with the disc.
