On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na’vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet’s environment is poisonous, human/Na’vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully, a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with the Na’vi and in particular, his Na’vi guide, a woman named Neytiri. As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world.

‘Avatar’ Movie Summary

“Avatar” is an epic science fiction film set in the mid-22nd century on the lush, alien moon of Pandora. The story follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic former Marine, who is recruited to join the Avatar Program, a project led by the Resources Development Administration (RDA), a corporate entity seeking to mine Pandora for its valuable mineral called unobtanium.
