Disney’s Peter Pan (1953) Comes To Blu-ray In February

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced that it will bring their classic animated film Peter Pan to Blu-ray this February.  The film will be released in a 2-Disc Diamond Edition set that features the film’s first Blu-ray disc release, as well as a digital copy. The Diamond Edition will only be made available for a ‘limited’ time.  Peter Pan will be available online and in stores on February 5, 2013.

An adaptation of J. M. Barrie‘s story about a boy who never grew up.  The three children of the Darling family receive a visit from Peter Pan, who takes them to Never Land, where an ongoing war between Peter’s gang of rag-tag runaways and the evil Pirate Captain Hook is taking place.

Peter Pan was originally released in February of 1953 and grossed over $87 million at the box office.  It was the 14th film in the Walt Disney animated feature film series.

Disney has not specified just how limited this release may be, or specified any technical specs, special features at this time.
