Film and Plot Synopsis

Ever since their saga started on the streets of L.A.’s underground racing scene, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have overcome impossible odds to outsmart, out-nerve and outdrive every foe. Yet when the team took down a nefarious kingpin back in Brazil, they had no idea his son Dante (Jason Momoa) was watching from the shadows. ‘Fast X’ Movie Summary

The film begins with a flashback that takes place during the events of Fast Five. Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), the son of drug lord Hernán Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), attempts to stop Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) from stealing the vault containing the fortune of his father. However, Dom uses the vault to ram Dante’s turreted SUV into the ocean. Hernán is subsequently killed by federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), but Dante survives and swears revenge against Dom, the man whom Dante believes is most responsible for his father’s death.

Years later, the Agency requests Dom and his team to steal a computer chip during its transit in Rome. Dom and his wife Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) decide to stay behind to take care of Dom’s son Brian “Little B” Marcos (Leo Abelo Perry) leaving Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) to run the operation with the assistance of Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), Han Lue (Sung Kang), and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel). A couple of nights later, cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron) arrives at Dom’s house in the middle of night and informs him and Letty that Dante has turned her entire crew against her by threatening their families. Cipher further informs Dom that Dante is seeking revenge against him for his father’s death and the loss of his family’s fortune. The next morning, the head of the Agency, Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood), arrives at Dom’s home to take Cipher into custody. When Dom mentions the rest of the team is on a mission in Rome for the Agency, Little Nobody informs them that there is no Agency mission in Rome. Dom and Letty realize that Dante has set up the group and head off to Rome with Little Nobody to rescue the team. They leave Little B in the care of Dom’s sister, Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster).

On mission in Rome, Tej and Ramsey break into a truck which they believe is carrying the mysterious computer chip. They discover that it contains an enormous bomb, that if exploded would take out most of Rome and the Vatican. Dante remotely controls the truck and locks Tej and Ramsey into the vehicle. Dom, Letty, and Little Nobody arrive in Rome and attempt to stop the truck. Dante activates the bomb, but Dom is able to use his car to push the bomb into the Tiber River which mutes the devasting effects of the explosive. Unfortunately, Letty is arrested and taken into custody. Dante influences the media and the intelligence agencies to lay blame for the bomb on Dom and his teammates. Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey literally go underground to escape Rome. Dom contacts Magdalene “Queenie” Ellmanson-Shaw (Helen Mirren) who helps him get out of Rome and off the grid.

With Little Nobody’s disappearance, the Agency is headed up by Agent Aimes (Alan Ritchson) who makes it the organization’s priority to either capture or kill all of Dom’s team. He dispatches agents to capture Dom’s family and friends. When agents attempt to capture Mia and Little B, Dom’s little brother Jakob (John Cena) rescues them. Mia goes off to help her husband and children, while Jakob takes Little B to a secret location in Portugal where they will await the arrival of Dom. At the same time, Mr. Nobody’s (Kurt Russell) daughter, Tess (Brie Larson), remains convinced of the team’s innocence and uses the God’s Eye to locate Dom in Naples. She informs Dom that Dante is in Rio de Janeiro, and he goes off to confront Dante. Tess then travels to the Agency’s secret prison in Antarctica to assist Letty in breaking out. Tess wounds Letty so that she has to be taken to the infirmary. Once there, Letty encounters Cipher and the two begin working together to escape the prison.

Meanwhile, Dom confronts Dante in Rio. Dom also meets Isabel Neves (Daniela Melchoir), a Brazilian street racer who is the sister of Little B’s deceased mother Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky). Dom challenges Dante to a street race, along with Isabel and Dom’s ally Diogo (Luis Da Silva). However, Dante cheats during the race and blows up Diogo and Isabel’s cars, killing the former and injuring the latter. At the same time in London, Roman, Han, Tej, and Ramsey turn to Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) for help. Deckard’s place is raided by the Agency, but Dom’s team fights them off.

A brief time later, Dom is apprehended by Aimes in Rio, but he escapes after Dante attacks the Agency convoy transporting Dom. Tess arrives and helps Dom capture Dante. However, the entire operation is a ruse to acquire the God’s Eye from Tess. Tess is shot by a sniper, and Dante steals the device. Aimes joins forces with Dom to fight Dante. Dom, Aimes, Dante, and Roman’s team all travel to Portugal to get Little B. Jakob and Little B lead a group of mercenaries on a car chase through the highways of Portugal. Dante kidnaps Little B, and Jakob is forced to sacrifice his life to free Dom after he becomes cornered by mercenaries. Dom and Dante engage in a high-speed chase that involves cars and helicopters.

Dom reacquires Little B, but he becomes cornered again when Dante pins Dom’s car in the middle of a dam with two semi-trucks filled with gasoline. Roman, Tej, Han, and Ramsey arrive in a plane to help Dom. However, their plane is shot down by a missile from a rocket launcher fired by Aimes, who reveals himself to be working with Dante. Dom drives off the edge of the dam to escape Dante’s trap. He and Little B survive the escape and swim to the side of the river at the bottom of the dam. Dante activates explosives on the dam. Dom and Little B look helpless as they wait for the dam to blow up. Meanwhile, Letty and Cipher successfully escape the prison and come across a submarine breaking through the ice. The hatch of the sub opens up and reveals the previously believed deceased Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) in command of the submarine.

In a mid-credits scene, a team of armed men swarm an abandoned theater. One of the masked men comes across a recording of Dante that informs the agent that he will be his next target for killing his father. The masked man removes his headgear, revealing himself to be Luke Hobbs. Hobbs replies to the message that he is not hard to find.
