Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)

Film and Plot Synopsis

After the first Winnie-the-Pooh book fell into the public domain in 2022, British filmmakers decided to adapt the characters into a new genre. In this twisted take on the classic characters, Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet have become feral, blood thirsty animals after being left alone by Christopher Robin while he went to college. Now with a hatred for humanity, Pooh and Piglet brutally murder those that are different from them. However, when Christopher Robin returns to Hundred Acre Wood, the two animals see an opportunity to seek revenge on the one that they blame for all their pain.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)As a child, Christopher Robin (Frederick Dallaway) met and befriended a group of anthropomorphic creatures that he discovered in the Hundred Acre Wood in England, including Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Rabbit. However, eventually Christopher grew up and had to leave his playmates behind so that he could go to college. The animals were left with no one to feed them, and when winter arrived, they all began to starve. In order to survive, the animals agreed to kill and eat Eeyore. However, their act of violence against their friend caused the animals to go mad and develop a hatred for humanity, specifically for Christopher. The surviving animals vowed to return to their feral instincts and to never speak again.

Years later, Christopher (Nikolai Leon) returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with his wife Mary (Paula Coiz). The couple finds Pooh and Piglet’s homes in disarray. Ultimately, they are ambushed by Piglet (Chris Cordell), who strangles Mary until she dies. Pooh (Craig David Dowsett) arrives, and despite Christopher’s pleas for assistance, Pooh and Piglet overpower their former human friend and drag him further into the woods. They show him the skeletal remains of Eeyore and burn Mary’s corpse in front of him after they tie him up.

Sometime later, a group of university students – Alice (Amber Doig-Thorne), Maria (Maria Taylor), Jessica (Natasha Rose Mills), Lara (Natasha Tosini), and Zoe (Danielle Ronald) – rent a cabin in the Hundred Acre Wood to recover from a traumatic stalking incident that they were involved in. A fifth friend, Tina (May Kelly), drives separately and gets lost on the way to the cabin. Tina encounters Pooh in an abandoned barn, and after ripping off her top, Pooh forces Tina into a woodchipper, killing her. After the murder, Pooh returns to his treehouse where he has Christopher tied up. Pooh remembers his childhood memories with his former human friend and responds to those thoughts by whipping Christopher with Eeyore’s tail and showering him in Mary’s blood.

Later that night, Lara decides to soak in a hot tub to relax. She is interrupted when Pooh arrives and pulls her out of the hot tub and drags her into the driveway. As Pooh holds Lara down, Piglet drives over her head with the girls’ car. Piglet then enters the cabin and brutally kills Zoe with a sledgehammer. Maria and Jessica hide and watch as Piglet and Pooh drag Alice away. Maria and Jessica decide to try to help their friend and follow the animals to Pooh’s treehouse. Once inside, Maria and Jessica find and free Christopher. Christopher directs the girls to another imprisoned human, Charlene (Danielle Scott). Charlene has been tortured by Piglet, and as a result, her face is severely scarred.

Pooh, you’ve got to help me. Something’s wrong with Piglet, he killed my wife! Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon)

The four decide to work together to escape, but Charlene is overcome with a desire for revenge against Piglet and begins calling out to him. Piglet arrives, and initially Charlene gets the better of him, but eventually Piglet mauls Charlene to death. Maria and Jessica run into the woods and Pooh chases after them. However, Alice stays behind and beats Piglet with his own sledgehammer, avenging Zoe’s method of execution by the pig. Unfortunately, Pooh returns and impales Alice with a knife through her mouth, killing her.
Back out in the woods, Maria and Jessica encounter a group of men driving along the road. They ask for help, but when Pooh suddenly appears, the men decide to confront the bear rather than to take the girls to safety. The men begin to beat Pooh severely, but he absorbs all their blows and then kills each of the men one by one. Maria takes the men’s jeep and tries to run over Pooh but ends up crashing the vehicle knocking herself unconscious. When Maria regains consciousness, she sees that Pooh has captured Jessica. Pooh decapitates Jessica and throws the head onto the hood of the car. Pooh prepares to kill Maria when Christopher reappears and drives into Pooh with his own car, pinning the bear between the two cars.

Christopher frees himself and Maria from their cars and prepares to escape into the woods when Pooh frees himself from the middle of the cars. Severely injured, Maria fails to outrun Pooh and is captured by the silly old bear. Pooh holds Maria at knifepoint, and Christopher pleads for Pooh to release her, apologizing for leaving his animal friends and promising to stay with them forever. Pooh breaks his vow of silence and accuses Christopher of abandoning them just before he slashes Maria’s throat. Maria dies in Christopher’s arms. Christopher realizes that his former friend is beyond help and runs into the woods and Pooh repeatedly stabs Maria’s head over and over again.
