Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan begins with Admiral James T. Kirk as an instructor at Starfleet Academy. He hates his desk job, but on his birthday, Bones recommends he get some adventure in his life instead of rotting away. While on a two-week cadet cruise aboard the USS Enterprise, the ship gets receives a distress call from the Regula I, Kirk assumes command of his old ship. The team learns that Kirk’s old TV nemesis, Khan Noonien Singh, has resurfaced after years of exile on a hostile planet. Now, Khan blames Kirk for his wife’s death, and he wants revenge. After Khan learns about Project Genesis, which can create an entire planet from dead matter, he captures the device. Kirk’s ex lover, and their son, lead the project’s team which doubles Kirk’s urgency to save the day before he loses someone he dearly cares about in this Star Trek classic.
