Surprised that Patrick was so surprised that Quo Vadis was the number 1 movie of 1951. It was a biblical epic type of film. Those films were essentially the superhero films of the 50s, they almost all were huge hits. Even today 10 commandments remains one of the 10 highest grossing films of all time adjusted for inflation. In retrospect I’m sort of surprised Quo Vadis didn’t receive best picture that year, considering what a massive production it was.

I had not heard of it myself, but I am very curious to watch it after hearing them talk about it.

Quo Vadis isn’t very good except for young peter Ustinov playing Nero
